Description
This gentleman was up early, as I am often, catching breakfast. This image was taken on a lake in Northern Idaho as I was Kayaking in the early morning fog. The Sepia effect was easy to develop as the sun provided a warm feeling on the fog in the early hours of the morning.
I think the first thing that caught my eye was the reflection of light on the fishing line. In this image you can see two lines. As I made my way out around his lines, I could see that he had a fellow fisherman up at their van getting the cooking equipment out in anticipation of that morning catch.
I like Kayaking because it is so quiet, no one hears you coming. I was very happy about that fact on this particular morning, I didn't want to disturbe his morning catch, and I think he appreciated that also.
Where I live, on the Eastern Washington - Northern Idaho boarder, there are innumerable small lakes. All of which sport a pretty leasurly lifestyle, therefore, are very quiet and peaceful in the morning hours. There are some larger lakes also that offer the same solitude in the early hours of the day. Some of these lakes have inlets that feed the lakes and are deep enough to travers up to get away from the traffic of larger, noisier watercraft that come as the temperatures rise along with the residents. This gentleman and I are part of a minority who enjoy the morning.....we are happy about that.
