Description
The first time I went to Yellowstone, was in the middle of winter, and at the West Yellowstone enterance during winter only tour groups go in on SnowCat type vehicles. During the winter months a larger variety of wildlife come down from the higher elevations for food and water, and are more likely to be visible during the daytime hours. Along with the usual Bison, and deer, I also saw Big Horn Sheep, and bear. I was told that some species stay in the higher elevations during the summer months so it is a treat to see them. Even seeing most wildlife out and about in the middle of the day is a treat.
