Description
This historical landmark is nestled in the Palouse farmlands of Washington State. This bridge was built by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad in 1915 to replace a wooden trestel. No longer used, it has become one of the Icons of the Palouse farmlands and stands as a beautiful reminder of the history of this area.
The Palouse is an awesomely beautiful and peaceful place. The rolling hills and patterns and colors are ever changing. As crops vary from year to year, the scene is always different. I also love the old barns and abandoned farms that still stand, although some have been reclaimed by the earth, still others are sagging. I love the people of this community, they are a down-to-earth group of hard-working farmers. They are sooooo in touch with each other and always giving back to the community.
