Description
Wheat harvest in the Pacific Northwest in the fall is the culmination of many months of changing scenery in the grain growing farmlands of the Palouse.
It all starts in the spring, with perfectly straight lines of green popping out of the ground forming beautiful abstract design for as far a the eye can see. During the early summer months the grain begins to show at the top of grassy stalks, and later begins to turn to those amber waves of grain written in the lyrics of anthems we sing, attributed to our country.
During the fall months it is amazing to see farmers come together to help each other harvest their fields. Just about anywhere you go in the Palouse during the fall, you can see numerous combines following each other, each one taking a deeper cut into those amber waves of grain.

Thank you Paulette....I didn't grow up on a farm.. but I think it would have been a great way of life.
