Description
This image of Castle Mountain was taken with a borrowed Fisheye Lens. I was at a roadside rest photographing the scenery and stuck up a conversation with a gal that loved photography as much as I do. We had the same camera so she loaned me her Fisheye Lens. What fun. I am always in awe of the Rocky Mountain Range and the Canadian Rockies are no less awe inspiring. I was there in the middle of July and was amazed that it could be very cold in the early morning hours. The elevation there is so high and mornings are so brisk, that one time my hands froze and my camera battery was loosing power.
Castle Mountain, formerly known as Mount Eisenhower is near Banff Alberta Canada. Castle Mountain is counted as one of Banff National Parks highest peaks. Banff National Park, originally known as Rocky Mountain Park, was established in 1885, and is Canada's oldest National Park. The park offers facilities for trail riders, hikers and mountain climbers. There are nature trails, hoodoos, mineral hot springs pools and some of the world's finest skiing.
The park stretches along the Continental Divide, and is surrounded on the west by Yoho and Kootenay National Parks to the north and to the north the Columbia Icefields of Jasper National Park.
